Vent D'anges

This name plays with the word “vendanges” in French meaning harvest. If you split the word, you find “vent” (wind) and “anges” (angels). This name corresponds to the finest terroir expression of Mas Zénitude.

Vent D’anges

Ageing

10 months in conical concrete vats.

Climate

The microclimate gave quite a bit of rain during end of winter and beginning of spring and thereafter, hot days and cool nights often with a refreshing wind from the mountains in the north.

Harvest and vinification

Mid-September when grapes showed a perfect maturity with a nice balance between sugar and acidity grapes are handpicked in small boxes of 10 kilos. As with all our wines we are respecting the nature by not using any chemicals at all in the vineyard, adding biodynamic preparations only and respecting the moon-calendar. Once in the cellar the grapes are de-stemmed and by gravitation put in conical concrete vats for a maceration with the skins for 18 days using their natural yeasts and adding no sulfites and only pumping over the wine a few times using a very slow and soft pump. Thereafter they are softly pressed in a vertical press and then pumped back and stored in the same type of conical concrete vats. The wine was bottled in end of July on a fruit day and not even in the bottles will be added any sulfites.
